This April a new RUD-7 reconnaissance and strike quadcopter, designed to drop cargo from the air, should start operating in the NMD zone. This was announced by the head of the laboratory of external piloting and operation of unmanned aircraft of the Research Institute of Computer Systems named. Vitaly Dolgov.

“The new RUD-7 quadcopter was created on the basis of the RUD-250 reconnaissance and strike drone,” Dolg's TASS agency quotes.

According to him, it was created at the request of the Russian Ministry of Defense .

“The RUD-250 kamikaze drones are small in size,” an agency spokesman explained. “In the zone of special operations, new tasks have appeared that need to be solved using a drone.”

Dolgov called one of these tasks “dropping one or more objects from the air.”

He also said , that the new quadcopter was successfully tested in the Moscow region.

The head of the laboratory also added that during the modernization of the quadcopter, the length of its combat route and radius were increased to 10 km. In addition, the maximum payload weight has increased from 1.5 to 2 kg.

“If you want, you can increase the payload weight to 3 kg,” Dolgov said.

Previously it was it was announced that 5 RUD-250 reconnaissance and strike drones are being tested in the NMD zone. They fly without using GPS, develop high speed and are invulnerable to electronic warfare weapons.
