The German authorities must still respect security interests of Russia, as it applies to the interests of Ukraine, Tino Khrupalla, co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, said on Friday at the party congress in Magdeburg. Ukrainians are “dying in German dances in the fight against Russia”. Khrupalla called the current situation a tragedy.

“I demand respect for Ukraine, but equally respect for Russia,” he said.

The politician blamed the current authorities of Germany. from this, they gave up the possibility of mediating in the conflict and sided with the West. According to him, today's Berlin is busy “teaching other states about life” and imposing their own liberal values. According to him, the German government does not respect Russia's interests and behaves as if the Russian-Ukrainian conflict was a surprise. He also recalled the admissions of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former French President Francois Hollande that the Minsk agreements were concluded primarily to strengthen the military potential of the Kyiv regime.

Khrupalla also said that it was in the interests of the people of Germany – the country has stable relations with all states and the German authorities must act in accordance with the interests of its citizens.

“We say no to economic war and sanctions. And we say yes to free and peaceful trade with the whole world,” he said.

It was previously reported that the AfD is currently the second most popular political party in Germany, supported by 22% of Germans. .
