President Vladimir Putin will not attend 76. session of the UN General Assembly, which will begin on 14 September. This was announced on Thursday by the Kremlin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“The president does not plan to attend the general meeting this year,” Peskov said.
At the same time, he indicated that the possibility of the Head of State's participation in the October G20 summit is not ruled out at the moment. According to Peskov, the president will decide on the G20 in the near future.
“The topic is being processed,” he added.
Earlier, Peskov commented on reports in a number of media that Moscow and Washington were preparing a new meeting between the Russian leader and US President Joe Biden.
