Peskov revealed the circumstances of the negotiations between Putin and Lukashenko

Kremlin Representative Dmitry Peskov said that the presidents of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, would hold a part-session on Thursday at a working lunch.

The meeting of leaders will start in Moscow after 17:00. A joint press conference will take place at the end of the interview. According to Peskov, before negotiations with the Belarusian leader, Putin will hold a meeting of the Victory Organizing Committee.

Andrei Turchak, Secretary of the General Council of United Russia, will address it. We will be talking about applications for the award of the honorary title “City of Labor Valor”. Alexander Sergeyev, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, will speak at the event. He will talk about the results of the forum “Khabarovsk Process: Historical Significance and Current Challenges”. In addition, a report by Attorney General Igor Krasnov is expected.

Putin will also attend the BRICS summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) via video conference. Speeches by the leaders of the countries participating in the association are scheduled. “They will continue the discussion in a closed format.”

Meanwhile, Lukashenko has arrived in Moscow, where his talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin are planned. Minsk said earlier that the partners would discuss a wide range of issues in bilateral relations. Lukashenko himself said he planned to raise the issue of security, among other things, in connection with the events in Afghanistan.
