photo: S-300 V. source: wikipedia < p>Air defense systems (ADS) of the Russian Armed Forces deployed in the Belgorod region broke the world record in the range of destroying targets in the air. The Military Watch magazine informed about it.
The record was set when two Ukrainian aircraft were neutralized – Su-27 and Su-24. The magazine reported that one of them was shot down at a distance of 217 kilometers. The aircraft moved at low altitudes, climbing to launch missiles and descending again before being fired upon by Russian batteries of surface-to-air missiles, mainly S-300V4 systems.
This system has been in service with the Russian military since the beginning of the year 2010. The S-300V4 uses tracked rather than wheeled vehicles and has greater mobility, as well as shorter set-up times and superior capabilities against ballistic and cruise missiles.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Lancet-3 kamikaze attack drone was destroyed air defense complex of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of Zaporozhye.
