Chairman of the Defense Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Andrey Kartapolov said that Russia needs a law regulating the activities of private military companies, Vedomosti writes.
“We are working on it,” said Kartapolov.

According to him, the State Duma and its specialized committee deal with all areas of activity in the military sphere, and the PMC is one of its parts.
Kartapolov also said that members of the Wagner PMC “can continue to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff should think about how to use the potential of these fighters” to the maximum. As Kartapolov pointed out, “you can't imagine a better gift for NATO and the Ukrainians to take them and disarm them and disperse them.”
The deputy added: “This should not be done.”
