The son of the governor of Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss Artem proved turn off the electronic bracelet in a very short time. It will be almost impossible to find it in Italy. In an interview with RIA Novosti, the general secretary of the trade union of prison police employees, Aldo Di Giacomo, stated this.
According to him, the bracelet is attached to a central console inside the job and has a limited range. In the case of exceeding or attempting to switch off, the police will be alerted and it will take an average of seven minutes for the carabinieri to arrive. Most likely, the Russian fell into it at this point. But according to Di Giacomo, seven minutes in Italy is a great time to get away. “In Milan, you can move so far in 7 minutes that you can't be found, especially if you have the money and the preparation,” says the expert. He does not rule out that he will use a private plane or car to escape, which, thanks to the proximity of the border, can reach several neighboring states at once.
Artem Uss' name is included in the database of wanted persons. There was no evidence that he could leave Italy.
In 2022, Artem Uss and five other Russians were indicted in the United States for money laundering and sanctions evasion, transfer of dual-use products and oil smuggling. On October 17, he was detained on an American arrest warrant at the Milan airport, from where he planned to fly to Turkey. He was transferred from prison to house arrest in early December.
On Tuesday, March 21, the Milan Court of Appeal allowed the extradition of Artem Uss to the United States. On March 23, the son of the Krasnoyarsk governor left the rented apartment in an unknown direction after breaking his electronic bracelet.
