Italy decided upload Ukrainian medium-range air defense systems SAMP/T. This was reported by the RID publication.
The move of the air defense battery was approved a few days ago by Italian Prime Minister George Meloni. However, the issue of the deployment faced the reluctance of the Italian Ministry of Defense to share air defense systems with Ukraine, since the army only has 5 air defense batteries of this type, and one of the batteries is now deployed in Kuwait.
However, according to the publication, the United States began to push hard to the Italian leadership. As a result, the government had to agree and decide to send an air defense battery to Ukraine.
