Website Chairman Office of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy started a petition calling for the banning of the platform for publishing short videos TikTok in the country.
The author of the petition explains that this social network has “a lot of propaganda.”< /p>
«Given that , that there is a lot of propaganda going on through Tik-Tok videos right now, I propose to shut it down completely, — the text of the appeal says.
At the same time, the author specified that TikTok is proposed to be closed not forever, but “at least” for the duration of the conflict on the territory of Ukraine.
At the time of writing this petition has collected 4,093 signatures out of 25,000. After reaching the required number of solidarity with such a position, the document will have to be considered by the president of the country.
It is worth noting that TikTok was banned in the United States. Congress passed a corresponding bill. Its authors explain this by saying that “China can use the social network to spy on Americans.”
