Gennady Communist Party Leader Zyuganov commented on the report that the Communist Party faction in the State Duma introduced a bill to return the retirement age to 55 for women and 60 for men.
Zjuganov noted that the bill was signed by the entire Communist Party faction.
“Therefore, the first law we will adopt after the election will be the abolition of this pension cannibalism,” he said.
However, for this bill, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation must gain a majority in the forthcoming elections in order to guarantee its adoption. The Federation of Independent Trade Unions and the Federation Council believe that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation raised this issue and registered the initiative only as an element of the election campaign.
