Ukrainian the party is ready to consider the possibility of negotiations with Russia only if they are based on “fundamental and universal principles”. This statement was made by the press secretary of the Ukrainian president, Sergei Nikiforov, in an interview with the publication Fakta.
He believes that the Russian side does not want “real negotiations” at this moment, but only the agreement of the Kyiv authorities to accept the “ultimatums” presented. At the same time, the official representative of Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine does not refuse to negotiate.
Among the “principles” presented by Kyiv, Nikiforov named respect for the UN Charter, respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, the principle of the rule of law, compensation for damage and also guarantees, that it will not happen again.
The press secretary of the Ukrainian president noted that if the negotiations consist of these points, then Kyiv may consider the possibility of communication between the parties “very seriously.”
p> < p>It is worth noting that since the beginning of the Russian special operation, there have been several rounds of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, but they did not bring any results, one of the conditions of Russia was the non-aligned and non-nuclear status of Ukraine, as well as the recognition of Crimea and others of regions that joined the Russian Federation as a result of referendums.
