Express readers condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who called on the Ukrainian army to advance “at least a kilometer, at least 500 meters” every day despite heavy losses.

“Yes, of course 500 meters, but towards Kiev!” joked another commentator.
A third advised the Ukrainian head of state to go to the front alone.
Since the beginning of June, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been trying to advance in the direction of Zaporizhia, Yuzhno-Donetsk and Artemovsk and threw troops trained and armed by the North Atlantic Alliance on the line of combat contact. As noted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian troops were not able to achieve serious success on any section of the front. According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, in September alone, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reached more than 17 thousand people and also over 2.7 thousand weapons.
