The First Lady of Ukraine Elena Zelenskaya arrived on an official visit to Israel. It is known that she has already met with President Yitzchak Herzog and his wife Michal.
“Thank you for the warm welcome and the opportunity to strengthen our cooperation,” Zelenskaya said on the social network.
As reported Ukrainian media, earlier Ukraine's ambassador to Israel said that if Israeli authorities do not comment on Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is “a shame to the Jewish people”, then the first lady's visit may not take place.
The day before the Israeli Foreign Ministry told the local press that it will not yet officially comment on Putin's words.
Last week, Israeli media wrote that for the first time in history, Israel intends to send more than 200 Merkava Mk2 and Mk3 tanks. According to a number of reports, the final recipient of the tanks will be Ukraine and Poland.
