US Federation Statement and some Western countries that security talks will not consider the issue of NATO's expansion to the east is not true. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
In her Telegram channel, she noted that key issues in the talks would be NATO's non-proliferation and the failure of weapons systems at Russia's borders, which threaten the country's security. According to her, “those who have not yet understood the essence of the Russian position” should be very clear. It will discuss Moscow's proposals on security guarantees. The summit is expected to take place in January. Meanwhile, US White House spokesman Jen Psaki said Washington was no longer ready to accept some of Moscow's terms. This applies in particular to the agreement on non-enlargement of NATO to the east.
