Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak confirmed that talks on a peace settlement without the participation of Russia will be held in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Ukrainian publication Glavred.info, Yermak noted that the next meeting of national security advisers and political advisers of the leaders of the states on the implementation of Ukrainian peace initiatives will be held in Saudi Arabia.
The day before the Wall Street Journal, citing diplomats, announced that the event will be held in Saudi Arabia in August. Indonesia, Egypt, Mexico, Chile and Zambia have already confirmed their participation. Great Britain, South Africa, Poland and the European Union. In total, according to diplomats, high representatives of up to 30 countries will arrive in Jeddah. At the same time, diplomats do not rule out that Saudi Arabia will be able to involve China in the negotiations. Russia will not be invited to the meeting.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow is ready for negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, he emphasized that it will not be possible to solve this issue without the participation of Russia.
