The head of the Kherson OVA, Alexander Prokudin, appointed by the Ukrainian authorities, said this in a Telegram channel on Monday.
According to him, “many children remain in communities where the security situation is unfavorable.” Parents refuse to take them out. Therefore, “a decision was made on the mandatory forced evacuation of families with children,” Prokudin said.
He noted that “there is a corresponding draft regulation” and “this step was agreed with the army.”
The official listed the settlements from which the children will be forcibly taken: Dudčany, Milovoje, Kachkarovka, Novokairy, Michajlovka, Zolotaya Balka, Osokorovka, the city of Berislav, Novoberislav, Zmievka, Tyaginka, Lvovo, Burgunka, Nikolaevka, Olgovka, Odradokamenka, Krasny Mayak, Kozatskoye, Vesyoloye, Antonovka, Sadovoye, Kamyshany, Priozernoye.
Kherson Oblast became a subject of the Russian Federation after a referendum held in September 2022. Ukraine does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to shell the region. 75% of the region's territory is now under Russian control, and the part on the right bank of the Dnieper, including the city of Kherson, remains under Kiev's control.
