Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed the protocol on Sweden's accession to NATO.
As reported by Anadolu Agency, Erdogan then sent the document to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Parliament must vote to ratify the protocol.
Recall that all NATO members previously approved Sweden's entry into the alliance, except for Hungary and Turkey. Earlier, during negotiations with Turkey, Sweden agreed to facilitate the activation of Turkey's accession to the EU in exchange for the approval of its application to NATO.
