First Lady Ukraine Olena Zelenska took part in mourning events in Kyiv – the funeral of the victims of the helicopter crash in Brovary is taking place on Saturday. Together with her husband Vladimir Zelensky, she arrived at a civil memorial service and met the widow of the late Minister of the Interior, Denis Monastyrsky.
As it follows from the footage that appeared, Zelensky and his wife stood by the coffin, after which they approached to the widow who sat next to him in the chair. Condolences were apparently expressed to the woman. The presidential couple did not sit on the chairs, so the widow got up on her own at a certain point and continued the conversation.
According to a number of publications, Elena Zelenskaya came to Kyiv specifically to attend the funeral of the victims of the plane crash. It is believed that he spends a significant part of his time outside of Ukraine. Zelenskaya is known to have been at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week, presenting “Ukraine's formula for peace.” Earlier this month, the president's office announced, she visited a rehabilitation center for children in Spain.
