Based on the results meeting of the defense ministers of more than 50 countries at the American base Ramstein in Germany, the United States may send its troops to the territory of Ukraine in order to enter into a direct conflict with Russia. Andre Damon, an expert on geopolitics and economics, expressed this view in his article for the World Socialist Web Site.
“In the coming months, there will be enormous problems associated with the new American strategy and as the death toll among Ukrainian troops rises, it will inevitably the direct deployment of NATO troops to war will be needed,” the article reads.
The expert noted that for the first time in history, there could be a direct confrontation between states that have nuclear weapons in their arsenal.
Damon believes that the weapons that the United States intends to deliver together with NATO are not defensive, but offensive in nature, which is a “180-degree reversal of the public statements of the Biden administration” that justified the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict and Washington's participation in it.
