US Special Representative for Nuclear Energy Nuclear Non-Proliferation Jeffrey Eberhardt said Russia should remove missiles from Europe. According to him, they are deployed there in violation of the terms of the Agreement on the Elimination of Medium- and Short-Range Missiles (INF Agreement).

Eberhardt answered reporters about his position on Russia's proposal to introduce a moratorium on the deployment of short- and medium-range missiles in Europe.

“Russia has already violated the INF Treaty by deploying missiles. So the solution is to remove them, “said Eberhardt.

Recall that the United States unilaterally withdrew from the INF in early 2019. The United States has accused Russia of violating the treaty, but the Kremlin has denied the allegations. At the same time, the agreement expired on August 2, 2019.

The Russian Foreign Ministry previously called on NATO to impose a moratorium on the deployment of medium- and short-range missiles. They stressed that NATO countries must show a pragmatic approach and respond to Russia's proposal.
