US authorities notified Russia of the party in advance on the intention to carry out a training launch of the intercontinental ballistic missile Minuteman III in September. It was announced on Tuesday, September 5 at the United States Department of Defense.
As of June 1, US authorities stopped providing information to the Russian side under the Strategic and Offensive Arms Treaty (START). In particular, Washington no longer transmits telemetry to Moscow regarding US ICBM and submarine ballistic missile launches.
At the same time, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated that the Russian Federation is ready to enter into a dialogue with the United States on strategic stability, which is however, only possible on the basis of parity “when they are mature, if and when they are interested”.
