Rise to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban (banned as a terrorist organization in the Russian Federation) has led to the closure of more than 150 media outlets. The TV channel Tolo News informed about it.

Closed media include print media, radio stations, television channels. The mass media in Afghanistan began to close due to restrictions imposed by the Taliban and also due to economic problems.

As a result of the Taliban coming to power, the economic situation in the country has changed, and many media outlets are unable to fund their activities. For example, the television channel Jinakas, which broadcasts in three provinces of Afghanistan, was forced to close due to financial problems.

International organizations supporting the free press in Afghanistan believe that if the situation does not change, then more newspapers, television channels and radio stations will be closed in the country.
