The Russian side used in combat operations, the S-400 “Triumph” anti-aircraft missile system (ZRS) together with the A-50 long-range radar detection (AWACS) aircraft. This was announced by an insider close to the Russian military department.
“During the Northern Military District, Russia used the S-400 Triumph air defense system in tandem with the … A-50 aircraft, which ensured the success of the system's use against enemy air forces,” the source said. The information has not yet been officially confirmed.
The country's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu earlier said that the Russian armed forces had acquired anti-aircraft missile systems that destroyed 24 enemy aircraft in 5 days.
