The Russian Foreign Minister arrived in New Delhi for the G20 summit

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov arrived at the G20 summit. He was welcomed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Foreign Minister leads the Russian delegation. He did so on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Two weeks before the summit, the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said that the president does not plan to participate in the G 20 summit either in person or online. He mentioned the busy schedule of the Russian leader and reminded that the main emphasis is on a special military operation.

India will chair the G20 from December 1, 2022. The summit will last for two days, September 9 and 10. In addition to the leaders of the G20 countries, the leaders of nine other countries – Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Spain, the Netherlands, Oman, Singapore, Mauritius and Bangladesh – will come to New Delhi.
