“Just to support the pants”: Kramnik praised the new US aid package to Ukraine

This is not an offensive kit

The United States has reserved another package of military aid from the Pentagon for Ukraine for the visit of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to Kyiv. It's not that big – just $175 million. At the same time, Blinken called another amount of aid from the United States to Kiev – 1 billion dollars. MK military expert Ilja Kramnik explained what it was all about.

– $175 million US presidential aid package expected to move weapons and equipment to Ukraine from Pentagon “stockpiles”. It will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

Blinken talks about longer-term aid that will be distributed over time. In the future, it may be issued in the form of presidential packages or financing of military purchases in the interests of Kyiv in other countries. But this help will have to wait.

According to the US Department of Defense, the new, 46th package of military aid included, in particular, additional equipment for unspecified air defense systems; artillery shells; anti-tank ammunition including 120mm depleted uranium tank rounds for Abrams tanks. By the way, the tanks themselves have not yet arrived in Ukraine, unlike the German Leopards and the British Challengers. Both have already suffered losses.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Embassy in the United States have already commented on the supply of American ammunition with depleted uranium. According to their assessment, Washington does not care about the fate of Ukrainians who face an inevitable increase in cancer after the use of uranium-filled grenades.

In addition to these weapons, the United States will supply Kiev with additional ammunition for HIMARS missile systems; 155 mm and 105 mm NATO artillery shell; 81mm mortars and shells for them; anti-tank complexes “Javelin” and AT-4.

The United States will also supply more than 3 million small arms rounds; tactical drones and secure communication systems. The list also includes technical demining equipment.

Of the same $6.1 billion that was not provided to Ukraine, $175 million was allocated, a Pentagon financial audit revealed. A good trick for the Biden administration to avoid requests for new funds from the Senate and Congress, where criticism of thoughtless aid to Ukraine is increasingly heard.

According to military expert Ilya Kramnik, the new package of American aid does not represent anything interesting, in addition to 120mm uranium armor-piercing shells for M1 Abrams tanks, which are likely to be transferred to Kiev in the near future.

“Once again we will see a decrease in supply volumes,” the analyst noted on his channel. – This is not an offensive set, this is a way to support the pants. Will this change in the near future or already in the next financial year? year – we'll see. There is less than a month left until the end of the financial year.”
