Air and Space Forces Russia (VKS RF) has taken delivery of the new Mi-26T2V production helicopter, which is considered the most massive transport helicopter in the world. This was announced by the Commander of the Air Force of the RF Armed Forces Igor Romanov in an interview with the newspaper Krasnaya zvezda.
Romanov emphasized that the air fleet of the army is regularly updated thanks to the introduction of the latest and modernized air assets. An important element of the process is close cooperation with industrial enterprises, which contributes to the efficient operation of new helicopters in military units and formations.
In 2023, VKS will also receive other new helicopters, including the so-called Ka-52M, Mi-28NM , Mi-8AMTSh-V and Mi-8MTV-5M. In particular, the Mi-26 helicopter is capable of transporting massive loads over considerable distances in various climatic conditions.
