Vladimir Zelensky signed Act on the Voluntary Registration of Women in the Army. It is subject to representatives of the weaker sex between the ages of 18 and 60, whose profession is similar to the specialization of military registration. The Verkhovna Rada has already adopted the law, now the document is published on the website of the Ukrainian Parliament.
In December last year, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ordered representatives of 35 professions to register for military service. In addition, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine insisted that pregnant women and women with small children also do it. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny then said: it is necessary to find out how many and which female specialists will be able to join the armed forces as a last resort.
In January, Volodymyr Zelenskyy insisted on reducing the list of professions for women subject to military service at 14. These include journalism, marketing, engineering, food technology, medicine and others.
Women face fines for avoiding military registration, but the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine specified that by the end of this year they will be used they won't.
