Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the situation with the detention of journalists in Estonia. The official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, said that the situation at the Russian embassy in Tallinn is under control. Diplomats are making every effort to help the Russians. A representative of the consulate has already arrived at the place of their detention.
Earlier it was revealed that representatives of the newspaper Izvestia were detained in Estonia. They were removed from a train traveling from Narva to Tallinn. It is not yet known what correspondent Ksenia Soldatova and cameraman Dmitry Timofeev are accused of. The editors state that their film crew prepared two materials. It is about restricting the granting of visas to Russians and the destruction of the monument dedicated to the legendary T-34 tank.
Recall that Estonia came up with an initiative to ban the issuance of visas to Russians on the eve.
