Peskov: in the government's economic bloc, many support the idea of privatization

In the economic bloc of the Russian government, many support the idea of privatization. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, told reporters on Thursday.
“Many people in the government's economic bloc support the idea of privatization. Except for some areas. Such ideas are on the agenda,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
He noted that state property should fall into private hands and be more profitable and efficient, as well as create new jobs. At the same time, Peskov emphasized that it should not be allowed to sell assets “for a pittance”.
On the sidelines of SPIEF 2023, the head of the central bank, Elvira Nabiullina, said that it is necessary to move to privatization. She also added that there are assets in Russia that can be privatized without harming “strategic interests”.
