Related to term to the fact that Lithuania stopped passing some transit cargo from Russian regions to the Kaliningrad region, the Russian Federation decided to introduce economic retaliatory measures against the Baltic countries. These imposed restrictions can cause serious damage to the transport complex of the Baltic States and essentially destroy it. This statement was made by the governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, in an interview with Vedomosti.
The head of the region emphasized that the economic response of the Russian Federation is a serious measure that can be compared to a powerful weapon.
“The transport complex The Baltics can basically be destroyed if Russia applies anti-sanctions on goods going to and from the Baltics,” — Alikhanov said.
At the same time, the governor of the Kaliningrad region believes that such economic measures by Russia against the Baltic countries are the most effective response and extremely destructive, comparable to neutron weapons.
