The Israeli Foreign Ministry received a request from local media for comment on the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who recently called the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky for “shame on the Jewish people.”

According to NEWSru.co.il, the editors sent the ministry a request for a statement. Diplomats were asked, among other things, whether this statement would mean, for example, the summoning of the Russian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry or whether it could have consequences for the opening of a Russian diplomatic mission in Jerusalem.

The reaction of the press service of the Israeli Foreign Ministry turned out to be brief – the ministry said, “it will not comment on Putin's words yet.”
