Using unprecedented pressure on African countries the United states are trying to disrupt the Russian-African summit. It will be held in July 2023 in St. Petersburg. Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, spoke about this in an interview with TASS.

He emphasized that after the launch of the NMD, the West significantly increased the pressure on the states of the African continent. They face sanctions and the termination of financial aid for ties with Russia. Bogdanov noted that the Americans make various accusations against our country on a daily basis – from rising fuel, fertilizer and grain prices to accusations of “coming famine” and worsening socio-economic problems in Africa.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister noted, that Russia does not intend to deviate from the centuries-old traditions of Russian diplomacy and will uphold the principle of free choice of the path of development of independent countries.

Bogdanov confirmed that preparations for the event continue. “We are receiving confirmation of participation… from the leaders of the states of the continent and it is a signal for us of principled support from a significant part of the country, despite the enormous pressure from the West,” the diplomat summed up. up.
