Minister of Foreign Affairs Belgian affairs On Sunday 20 June, Sophie Wilmes met with former candidate for President of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovska.
“Belgium supports the Belarusian people in their fight for a democratic society without violence,” she wrote on Twitter.
According to her, the EU supports Belarus and is preparing to impose sanctions on those responsible for the violence in the country.
On Monday 21 June, the Council of EU Foreign Ministers will meet in Luxembourg.
