Failed attempt to the Soledar counterattack, liberated by Russian troops, cost the Ukrainian formation about 200 soldiers. RT informed about it.
The incident happened on the morning of January 10. The Ukrainian formations that retreated from Soledar attempted a counterattack. However, she was unsuccessful. The forces of the 46th and 77th Air Assault Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were involved in the counterattack.
The Ukrainian formations found themselves without fire cover, including artillery support. The forces of the 17th tank brigade also did not provide support for counterattacks.
It is known that the units aimed at breaking the encirclement did not have battalion officers or even companies. As a result, the forces thrown into the counterattack were destroyed by Russian Su-25 aircraft. Kiev authorities declared the dead soldiers missing in order to underestimate the losses in Soledar.
