Advisor to the US President National Security Commissioner Jake Sullivan said during a briefing that the U.S. administration does not expect defense spending cuts planned by the House of Representatives to affect aid to Ukraine.

Sullivan said the administration is requesting $37 billion for the new fiscal year to provide aid to Kiev, but Congress raised that amount to $45 billion.

“The money has been allocated,” he said.

Sullivan added that he did not see the likelihood that the amount could be revised down, and also expressed the belief that the minority of lawmakers in the new Congress will not be able to influence the continuation of American aid.
