US Secretary of State Antony Blinken could visit Kyiv to negotiate a ceasefire in the Ukrainian military conflict, political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said. The Ukrainian publication Strana.ua wrote about it on Friday.
According to Bortnik, the White House wants to avoid crises during the elections and control the fighting in Ukraine. Kyiv could have been offered “some form of temporary truce.”
The poliologist noted that “of course” such information cannot be made public.
In addition, the expert admitted that the minister will explain to the leadership of Ukraine at the meeting that during election campaigns, Kyiv should not count on the same volumes and regularity of American aid.
Blinken arrived in Kyiv for a visit on September 6. On September 7, he met with President Vladimir Zelensky.
