Germany must be saved readiness for further escalation of the armed conflict in Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian edition of Strana, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this during a speech at a conference on economic issues in Berlin.
As Scholz stressed, the escalation will include the destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure. But the fighting will not end quickly. Scholz also expressed the hope that Germany will no longer be in a state of economic dependence on any country, and hinted at Russian energy resources.
In addition, the German chancellor said that it is important to build the military potential of the Bundeswehr against the background of the events in Ukraine. According to him, Germany has already made some conclusions. For example, Germany's military budget was increased to 100 billion euros.
