“We know that there are many people who support this idea, but there is also another part of society that is terrified of the idea of unification,” the Moldovan leader stressed, urging him to see how events unfold. At the same time, the governments of the two states are pursuing a policy of rapprochement between the two countries in the humanitarian, energy and other fields, Sandu warned.
According to opinion polls, 20 to 40% of Moldovans support Moldova's accession to Romania.
