Russian Foreign Ministry: Kyiv cannot guarantee a safe transition of the IAEA to the IAEA

Deputy Director of the Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Igor Vishnevetsky, said that the guarantees of the Ukrainian side for the safety of the passage of the IAEA delegation to the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP via Kyiv are fleeting.

He explained , that Ukraine cannot provide such guarantees because there are “a bunch of units that are not subordinate to Kiev.”

He also emphasized that Ukraine is shelling ZNPP and Energodar and cannot guarantee anything.

“Mission international representatives must not be endangered,” Vishnevetskiy emphasized, adding that this mission will be personally led by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi. .

The Russian diplomat expressed his belief that the development of the routes for the delivery of the IAEA mission to the Zaporizhzhya NPP will be the subject of further negotiations with the Director General of the IAEA and the leadership of the UN Secretariat.

At the same time, the UN has previously stated , that it is ready to mediate the journey of IAEA experts to ZNPP through Ki ev.
