Rosenergoatom talked about the timing of the restoration of the Zaporizhia NPP

Zaporožská NPP can “Fix it” in 2-3 months, Renat Karchaa, adviser to the CEO of the Rosenergoatom concern, told us in a comment to TASS.

According to him, almost all major damage to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which was received in as a result of shelling by the armed formations of Ukraine.

Karchaa also noted that under the conditions of shelling it was not possible to carry out full-scale repairs and restoration work, but now such a possibility exists.

“If the situation is calm and you if we cooperate closely, then in two or three months, six months at the most, the plant can be put in full order,” he said.

ZNPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which is located on the territory of Russia. The nuclear power plant is regularly shelled by Ukrainian military formations. On September 11, the authorities of the Zaporozhye region announced the shutdown of the last ZNPP energy unit. On November 3, it was announced that the Zaporozhye NPP was completely disconnected from the Ukrainian energy system.

On January 19, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi wrote on social networks that he discussed the creation of a safety zone around the Zaporizhzhya NPP during a visit to Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He noted that he also confirmed the organization's intention to create support missions in all nuclear power plants in Ukraine.
