Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the death of his grandmother from a German bullet during the Great Patriotic War. He shared the story at the open lesson “Talking about what's important”.

According to him, the story was preserved in the letters of his grandfather, a simple peasant.

“The fighting was going on, the villagers were lying everywhere in the trenches and a German bullet hit her in the stomach, she was dying in his (grandfather's) arms. And the words that just stuck in my soul tell the son about the last words of his grandmother in a letter: “Putin shared.

He added that the grandmother, dying, asked her grandfather not to cry and It did not upset her that, it showed the depth of their relationship.

Putin believes that “when we talk about traditional values, we also mean it”, i.e. the inner love that is the basis of relationships in our society.
