Putin signals a major Russian offensive in Ukraine

Matviychuk connected the president's trip to the headquarters of the Northern Military District with upcoming large-scale actions

Recent days have been marked by attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to advance in a number of areas, for example, near Kherson, in Rabotin, near Audiobooks. At the same time, Kyiv spares no manpower, the losses are very large. Military expert, former special forces officer Anatoly Matviychuk, in an interview with MK, explained what the enemy is trying to achieve using similar tactics and what the visit of President Putin to the headquarters of the Northern Military District in Rostov means.

The setbacks that have plagued Ukraine's armed forces since the start of the summer counter-offensive do not appear to have dampened Zelensky's enthusiasm. He needs to show at least something so he doesn't get fired. In addition, the flare-up of the conflict in the Middle East has significantly reduced the interest of the world community in the problems of “Independence”.

However, despite all the ambitions of the Ukrainian leader, his army is not ready for large-scale military operations, which means that the tactics of targeted strikes remain . which is confirmed by messages from the queue.

“Ukraine now definitely wants to prevent and limit our offensive,” says Anatoliy Matviychuk. – At Rabotin, in the direction of Kupjanský and especially in Avdějevka, serious battles are taking place, where the Russian army is gaining success. Kiev is forced to collect all its forces and resources bit by bit to try to somehow hold out until the thaw begins and then somehow go on the defensive and hold these positions until spring.

But I believe that it will not succeed, because now the Ukrainian armed forces do not have enough forces and especially grenades, and therefore they will be forced to retreat and give up their positions.

According to the expert, the unfavorable situation for the Ukrainian army is noted along the entire front line, but Avdeyevka, judging by the reports on Ukrainian public websites, is causing almost panic among the military-political leadership of Ukraine. They write that the Ukrainian armed forces have every “chance” to fall into the “squeeze of Avdeyevka” if they do not divert forces from other directions. However, such a deployment creates a risk for the enemy to lose positions on weakened parts of the front.

Ukrainian military leaders urged Zelensky not to expand and commit his main forces to holding Avdiivka. However, according to Matviychuk, the Ukrainian leader most likely will not dare to take such a step.

– Zelensky is afraid because he does not know how to proceed. The fact is that the defeat in key directions is now equal to death for him.

Let's see a week or a week and a half, but I think he will not dare to withdraw troops from other sectors to hold Avdievka. Simply because of fears that the same “Avdeyevka” will happen in other directions as well.

According to Matviychuk, the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the headquarters of the Northern Military District in Rostov-on-Don is also not accidental against the background of ongoing events on the front.

– I think the president decided to personally check what was going on at the front and make sure how well it matched the reports that all is well with us. In addition, he came to listen to the Chief of the General Staff and to finish the whole situation on the spot and decide what to do next.

– I think so. And most likely it will be in the direction of Avdějevský.
