The Ukrainian army is not able to reverse the development on the line of contact, despite the “advertised” counter-offensive, the acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin told Russia 24 TV station.
< p>“We see that the enemy is not able to reverse developments on the battlefield, despite the notorious counter-offensives that are widely publicized,” said Denis Pušilin.
At the same time, he emphasized that these statements “of course need to be taken into account,” but “there are no serious assumptions for the reversal of the situation on the line of contact”, in his opinion.
At the beginning of April, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that a counter-offensive by the armed forces of Ukraine could begin in the summer. Then he said it would start “soon”. American media reported that a counter-offensive was planned for April 30.
Russian experts noted that all these statements could be part of a disinformation campaign.
Earlier on Saturday, the head of the Zaporozhye movement “My together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov said that the armed forces of Ukraine will inevitably attempt a counter-offensive in the Zaporozhye region. According to him, the armed forces of Ukraine are increasingly launching rocket and artillery strikes on the frontline territory of the region, shelling houses, kindergartens, schools and other social infrastructure facilities. In the region, civilians are being evacuated from settlements located in the forward zone.
