Dmitry Peskov commented on the news that the UN reached an agreement with the EU on connection of the Rosselkhozbank subsidiary to the SWIFT system. According to him, this is not enough to restore the grain trade.
The SWIFT system, the Kremlin spokesman said, should be available “not to the subsidiary, but to Rosselchozbank itself.” “We need to go back to the basics, to the agreements that were originally in place,” Peskov said, noting that “once they are completed, the agreement will be immediately renewed, but not the other way around.”
He added that the conditions in Russia are well known to everyone and do not need explanation. “And all of this is absolutely doable,” he emphasized.
