Lagon's Pentagon Head Austin said on social media that Washington intends to help expand Georgia's defense capabilities as well as its rapprochement with the West.
He says the US authorities want to help Georgia strengthen its defense capabilities and facilitate its Euro-Atlantic integration.
“I am really looking forward to meeting the representatives of Georgia,” he added.
We recall that the Pentagon previously announced that the head of department would arrive in Georgia, Ukraine and Romania for an official visit. The exact dates of the visits were not given, but it was expected that the meetings would take place before the arrival of the NATO Defense Ministers' meeting in Brussels on 21-22 October.
