Defense Ministers Members NATO is preparing today for an agreement on a new global defense plan against a potential Russian attack. The strategy assumes the likelihood of a current attack in the Baltic and Black Sea regions, including the use of nuclear weapons, as well as the hacking of computer and space systems.
According to diplomats and former NATO officials, the concept of deterrence and defense in the Euro-Atlantic region is necessary because Russia is developing advanced weapons systems and deploying troops and equipment closer to the bloc's allies.
The Russian side, in turn, denies any army, claiming that NATO risks destabilizing Europe with such preparations.
