Twitter owner Elon Musk kept his promise and revealed information about the attempts of the previous management of the social network to cover up the scandal with the son of the US president, Hunter Biden. He republished an investigation by journalist Matt Taibbi.
According to the correspondent, the social network has removed all links related to the story of Biden Jr.'s stolen laptop. At the same time, the direct transmission of information on this topic via messages was blocked. Taibbi noted that such tools are used only in extreme cases – for example, in relation to child pornography.
Earlier, House Republicans promised to investigate the US president's business ties. They were first reported in October 2020 after a series of publications in the New York Post. The publication said they gained access to correspondence allegedly found on Hunter Biden's laptop.
The personal computer itself was found at one of the repair shops in Delaware. Its owner copied the laptop's hard drive and gave a copy to former New York mayor and Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani. Later, the Daily Mail wrote that the photos from the laptop are possible evidence of a connection between the son of the US president and drug dealers.
