Chairman of the Board Dmitry Medvedev spoke of the consequences the world could face if a nuclear power loses a conventional war. On Thursday, January 19, the Russian politician shared his opinion on this matter with the subscribers of his Telegram channel.

“Tomorrow at the Ramstein NATO base, major military leaders will discuss new tactics and strategies, as well as the delivery of new heavy weapons and strike systems to Ukraine,” Medvedev recalled. The politician drew attention to the fact that this is happening immediately after the World Economic Forum in Davos, where “underdeveloped visitors to political parties” repeated as a mantra: “To achieve peace, Russia must lose.” Let's recall that such an opinion was expressed by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during his speech at the event on Wednesday, January 18, adding that Germany will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary.

“And none of the poor would have thought to draw the following elementary conclusion from this: the loss of nuclear energy in a conventional war can trigger the beginning of a nuclear war,” Medvedev said. “Nuclear powers have not lost major conflicts on which their fate depends.” The last line of the deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation is even highlighted in italics and draws special attention to the idea expressed there.

“But this should be obvious to everyone,” added Medvedev. “Even a Western politician who has retained at least some trace of intelligence.”

On January 20, a meeting of the NATO contact group for support of Ukraine will take place at the US Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany. . It is expected that a decision will be made on the supply of heavy and modern weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier MK announced that Scholz is ready to allow the supply of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, but subject to additional assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from other partners. In particular, the German Chancellor called this step possible after the transfer of Abrams tanks to the Ukrainian side by the United States.
