Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko praised former German Chancellor Angela Merkel's recognition of the real reasons for the conclusion of the Minsk agreements.
In an interview with Zeit, she said that they were signed to give Ukraine time to prepare for a military confrontation with Russia.

“If that's the case, she behaved petty and despicable,” the Belarusian leader said.
At the same time, Lukashenko expressed doubts that the West wanted to “deceive everyone” at the Minsk talks. In his opinion, “everything was serious.”
He also promised to release information that after the uprising in Belarus in 2020, the West decided to start a war in Donbass.
< p>The Russian Foreign Ministry previously said, that Merkel's confession could be the subject of a trial within the tribunal.
