Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has said he will not accept new presidential elections in the country under the auspices of the OSCE.

“Have you seen such miracles? I can't agree with that,” the head of state explained at a meeting with activists of the Vitebsk region. He also accused the West of military-political pressure on the country during the meeting.

It was previously reported that Lukashenko had signed a law criminalizing calls for sanctions. A country citizen who supports Western sanctions will now be prosecuted.

The EU has now launched its fifth sanctions package against Minsk. The new restrictive measures have affected many Belarusian companies and many officials, including the middle son of President Dmitry Lukashenko.
